Slack
Send Aegis notifications to Slack, and create risks or incidents from Slack with
the
/aegis command.
At a glance
| Direction |
Out of Aegis (notifications) and into Aegis (the
/aegis command).
|
|---|---|
| What it sends | Notifications to the default channel, or to a channel a notification names. |
| Where it lands | A risk or incident created from Slack lands in Risks or Incidents. |
| Credentials and permissions |
A Slack app (client ID, client secret and signing secret) with the
scopes
chat:write and channels:read, the
slash-command and interactivity addresses from the connector page,
then Authorize with Slack.
|
| Owner of imported records | The Aegis user matched to the Slack user who used the command; without a match the record has no owner yet. |
| When it runs | At the moment a notification is sent or the command is used. |
| Set it up |
/connectors/slack, by people allowed to configure
connectors, on a plan that includes the connector.

Good to know
- Every request from Slack is checked with the signing secret; a request without a valid signature is refused.
- A person receives a Slack message only when they switched the channel on in their notification preferences.
Where this connects
Notification preferences are in Settings.
